***VERY IMPORTANT!!***

The Jesus in the Passover Full Seder presentation will need some preparation on the part of your church. We will need a presentation table and tables for your congregants. The following is a list of what is needed for each table. If you have any questions call us at 770-642-4706.

Instructions for Setting up the Presentation Table:

  1. A six or preferably eight foot table set up in the front of the sanctuary or room in which the presentation will take place. The table should be covered with a white table cloth. Another eight foot table in the foyer for books and materials.
  2. A lapel microphone if available.
  3. Two candle holders (any kind) with two 12" white taper candles to fit.
  4. Three plastic or glass transparent containers (about the size of custard cups-clear plastic cups from the grocery store is o.k.).
  5. A handful of fresh green parsley.
  6. A large onion or horseradish root (**do not chop up--whole large onion or root).
  7. One large apple, skinned, chopped into very small pieces, and mashed with a fork to the consistency of very lumpy applesauce. Allow to stand out for several hours until brown.
  8. One hard-boiled egg, not peeled (brown preferred).
  9. One bottle of prepared horseradish
(**Found in the refrigerator section of the grocery store--where the sour cream and cream cheese is kept**)
No horseradish/mayonnaise sauce or powder please! Please do not open the jar until the minister has arrived.
  10. A small jar of salt water (One cup water-one tablespoon salt).
  11. Two chairs, one at each end of the table and two large bed pillows (one on each chair--any size pillow is o.k. and any pillowcase is o.k.).
  12. Matches and two teaspoons.

Instructions for Setting up the Congregants' Tables
(assuming 10 people per table):

  1. 2 candle holders (any kind) with two 10 to 12" white taper candles to fit.
  2. 1 book of matches.
  3. 2 small containers (1/8 cup each) of salt water (One cup water-one tablespoon salt).
  4. A large onion or horseradish root (**do not chop or peel--whole large onion or root).
  5. 1 small sprig of parsley per person (10 sprigs per table)
  6. 2 eggs hard boiled and not peeled. Brown eggs are preferable.
  7. 2 cups of Charoset (apple/honey mixture, recipe below). About 1/4 apple per person.
  8. 1/3 jar of prepared horseradish.
(**Found in the refrigerator section of the grocery store--where the sour cream and cream cheese is kept**)
No horseradish/mayonnaise sauce or powder please! Please do not open the jar until the minister has arrived.
  9. 5 pieces of Matzoh (unleavened bread) - large squares and not tam-tams.
  10. 2 large white dinner napkins for the matzoh cover (I will explain how to fold it when I come).
  11. 1/2 gallon of grape juice.
  12. 10 spoons and/or forks.
  13. 10 drinking cups or glasses for the grape juice.
  14. 10 dessert-sized plates.
  15. 1 large dinner sized plate for the center of the table.

The table may be set as simply or elaborately as you wish. We have had groups use anything from paper plates to fine china. Most groups use very nice paper products and plastic cups or goblets.

Charoset Recipe
2 sweet (Gala or Fuji) apples
1/2 cup walnuts
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. honey
1 tbs. sweet Passover wine or grape juice

Core and peel apples. Chop walnuts in a food processor until finely chopped (about the size of grape nuts) and set aside. Chop apples in food processor until finely chopped - but not as fine as the walnuts. Combine the apples and walnuts in a bowl and stir in the cinnamon, honey and wine/grape juice until well blended. Will serve 10 people.
